When was the last time you did a spring cleaning on your mind? A lot of people’s minds are as organized as a hoarder’s house. Take a second to visualize a hoarder’s house. It’s dirty, cluttered, unorganized, filled with a lot of junk from the past, and there are bugs everywhere. That is probably what your mind is like right now!
Thankfully you are about to have an intervention. Ryan Deiss, an internet marketer, said it best ‘you have to clear the mechanism first’. The concept of clearing the mechanism is really simple. Get all the thoughts in your mind out of your head and onto paper. First you need to get your hands on small squared post-it sticky notes. On these sticky notes you are going to write a single thought, not a book.
You need three different colors. Pick your first color for your important and urgent thoughts in your mind. Pick your second color for your less serious and minor concerns, and a three color is just for random thoughts in your mind. Make sure you get everything out of your mind. Once everything is written on the sticky notes go ahead and post them on a wall that you see when you wake up. Every time you solve one of your thoughts or resolve an issue just crumble up that sticky note and trash it.
Your mind will feel one million times lighter. So go ahead and start Un-hoarding your mind.
